The Provincial Commissioner has confirmed that Lieutenant Colonel Nebhisi will be transferred effective immediately. We are now shifting our focus to monitoring the transition process to ensure the station operations stabilize. Thank you for maintaining the pressure required to reach this outcome.
The petition reached one hundred signatures this morning. I am now finalizing the formal request for a meeting with the Provincial Commissioner to discuss these allegations of administrative failure.

Being held hostage in your own Town for 3 days is unacceptable. I had guests from abroad who were unable to return home on their planned flights and had to resort to protecting myself and my neighbours against hooligans running riot in Penzance. Unacceptable!!!

Incompetence of the highest order, gross inefficiency and total lack of willingness to protect the community she is meant to serve. Was her deployment here a political move?? I suspect so. Redeploy this captured commander elsewhere, ASAP.

We would like this to be investigated in a just and fair way as there will be a lot of policemen who do look after this community and work hard. Could it be that their hands were tied. Just a few polimen cannot hold back large amounts of people.

We need someone who is committed to making Hout Bay a united village. Clearly telling people to speak to the Mayor or not responding to help cries from various sources, including the rape victim, is not acceptable.
She is totally not with the programe here.

Appalling response from the police in Hout Bay when I called for help as my home was being attacked by rioters on Monday. I was told that there is nothing that can be done. We feared for our lives and are sorely disappointed at the lack of response from SAPS.

As a rent paying resident of Hout Bay living in Penzance I am appalled at the weak response the cops had to the violent protests outside IY that turned into racial attacks on us and our homes.
I demand competence from our police service.

Hout Bay is not a little village any more. We desperately need appropriate policing for our growing population. Why do we have to rely on private citizens and security companies to keep us safe? When will we get enough police personnel/vehicles to serve us? We were shocked by the station commander's comments regarding the riots at the time.
