Hout Bay is not a little village any more. We desperately need appropriate policing for our growing population. Why do we have to rely on private citizens and security companies to keep us safe? When will we get enough police personnel/vehicles to serve us? We were shocked by the station commander's comments regarding the riots at the time.

The commander has no interest in protecting the people of Hout Bay.

My daughter and I had to lock ourselves into my bedroom and could hear the mob outside our house. The police were totally unavailable to protect us.

The law is the law !! not a politician's decision or a political parties whim. A policeman has a duty to the public to uphold law and order. Citizens have a right to ask to be protected against violence and direct lawlessness.

I live in Penzance and was truly frightened during the protests. I was very concerned about the reports of the station commander's attitude towards the residents of hout Bay.

We have not had a police presence in Hout Bay for years. They work with the criminals.

I find it incredible that a community of protestors managed to block all entrances in and out of Hout Bay for 3 days, and managed to wreck such havoc in the process. What were the police doing? The police station is right at the scene of action. Surely they must have been aware of what was going on and could have taken preventative action before things got out of hand?

Refusing to assist Penzance residents under attack? Refusing to assist the Mayor getting through to address crowds, as demanded? And many other times she turned her cowardly back on the Hout Bay that she is supposed to protect.

Finding loop holes not to do your lawful Job, is a form of corruption and should not be accepted, unfortunately their are many who should be replaced, but one by one is good enough for now. citizen's have the right!

Totally unacceptable that members of Police Force ive in the in Squatter Camp. They and their families are intimidated. Remove the existing P.Force and replace with dedicated members who carry the community's wellbeing at heart . They are there to do a job

Her management of the riots show poor leadership and leaves little confidence in the Hout bay police as a protecting body

The Hout Bay commander does NOT have the community's best interests at heart. Under her watch, crime and lawlessness has risen steadily. She should resign.
