As Emmonak tribal members, we find ourselves in a position where we no longer have trust in Janice Agwiak’s ability to properly serve as our administrator. This petition addresses these concerns and seeks a resolution that benefits our community.

Janice Agwiak has failed to provide the tribe with clarity on several critical matters, including the alleged misuse of funds, specifically the burial assistance and COVID funding. Her lack of transparency and accountability has left many of us questioning her capability to lead. Allegedly, she has carte blanche with the tribe's funds and can spend them without full tribal council approval, which is very dangerous and opens our funding to potential conflicts.

We urge all tribal members to speak up and be heard. There is an urgent need to resolve these issues. Janice Agwiak has not only lost our trust but has also been unprofessional and evasive in answering our questions. Furthermore, the voting process has been compromised, with Janice not allowing any opposition to those she promised specific seats to. She has stated that your votes are subject to her reorganization, leaving your votes in her hands to run things as she pleases, making the entire process pointless and merely a faux formality.

Her staff has also been instructed to avoid answering any questions by stating they are not obligated to respond, which is unacceptable. If Janice cannot treat our members with respect and be transparent in her actions, she should not hold this position.

In conclusion, it is imperative that we come together as a community to address these issues. We need an administrator who is transparent, accountable, and respectful to all members. Let us work together to restore trust and integrity within our tribal leadership.

Sign this petition and share it with our Emmonak tribal members for her removal from this administrative position.
