Tschaeen is stepping down from the leadership role and honestly I am just sitting here staring at my screen because I still cannot fully believe this actually worked. All those meetings where we were blocked and shouted into the void finally led to a real change in how things run …

After several incidents of having the Brownsburg Police forcibly remove several citizens from public comment sections of the Town Council agendas over the past 3 years, we, the residents of the Town of Brownsburg along with residents from Lincoln and Brown Townships, do hereby formally request the Brownsburg Town Council to remove current Town Council President Travis Tschaeen from his leadership position with the Council. We do hereby also request an immediate vote for new Council leadership.

Our Town Council is responsible for setting public policy, approving the Town's annual budget, entering agreements, providing executive leadership, making planning and development decisions, and adopting new codes and ordinances. They do not have the right to limit residents' free speech or limit any accountability when being asked a question. This sort of unprofessional, unwelcoming behavior is why civic involvement in our town is at an all-time low. And now they have to be worried about being removed by the police for simply asking a question.

Your residents... your constituents have a right to be heard. You work for us.

I spent the entire morning reading through the stories you all are leaving about your experiences at these meetings and honestly it is just exhausting to see how widespread this silencing has become. People keep emailing me their own run ins with the police at the council chamber and I am trying to keep track of every single account because this is exactly the evidence we need to finally show them that we are not going anywhere. It feels quiet on the surface but I promise there is a lot of work happening behind the curtain to prepare for the inevitable pushback.

More questions Mr. Tschaeen might not like.... Did no-one advise you that when you ran for public office there would be questions posed that you might not like? People you might not like? If the pressure of office is too much for you, consider Harry Truman's adage, " If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". In this case, Council.

Travis you are there to serve the people and you like many have forgotten. A simple question triggers you because you were embarrassed by not doing your homework about the parks board is disgraceful.

The Town Council President is NOT a King! Tschaeen swore an Oath to support and defend the Constitution, the 1st Amendment is FIRST for a reason! The officer that removed Mr. Kendall from the meeting took the same Oath and should not follow unlawful orders from anyone. This was an abuse of power that Tschaeen does not even have.

Insecure people have something to hide. As a resident of Brownsburg I don't trust someone using their power to protect their insecurities.

Civil disagreement and criticism of government officials is our responsibility as citizens. They have forgotten that they work for us the citizens of the state of Indiana. His response was ridiculous and he lacks the intelligence, talent, ability, attitude, and personality to hold a public office.
