When you pin on a badge and take the oath of office, you swear to serve, protect and defend the laws of state you represent and the US constitution, not relinquish your rights or your ability to have an opinion of your own. Third world countries silence opinions, we don't.
We visit Surf City for vacations and it is one of my favorite vacation destinations. Chief Halstead used his right to free speech. He did not threaten anyone or violate rights. He spoke the truth. He should be reinstated. He has our support.
On behalf of the Maine Association of Police Retirees and Not On Our Watch Radio Program we support Chief Halstead. Any action other than full reinstatement and a public apology is unacceptable. I will never spend a dime in your town. Michael Mercer President
I believe this officer was wrongly forced to retire.I think he deserves his job back. He is an officer of the law and commented on something most are afraid to comment on.He has the right to freedom of speech just as anyone else has.
Please reinstate Chief Mike! Obviously he has been a wonderful member of your law enforcement for 35 years or he would of been gone long ago. I urge you to do some research on BLM, your conclusion will be shocking! If you need help with that, let me know. Thank you

How is this working for you. Guess all those dear little babies that are killed in drive by shootings mean that not all black lives matter only the ones doing the killing.
