Between 1939 and 2007, the Regal Cinema brought fantastic entertainment to Northwich. It was one of the only much needed social, and artistically inspiring places in Northwich. I know myself, that many happy moments of my teenage years were spent at the Regal with friends. In a small town like Northwich we need somewhere like the Regal. Driving to a multiplex 40 minutes away just isn't the same experience of walking through the retro lobby of the Regal. If we really put the effort in, got paintbrushes in hand, got the Guardian, and our MP on board, we could see the Regal flourish again.
I was just looking at the old photos of the lobby today and honestly it feels like a fever dream that we let such a gorgeous space fall into disrepair because the feeling of those velvet seats was unmatched by any sterile multiplex I visit now. People keep messaging me with their own memories of first dates and rainy Tuesday matinees which makes me think that maybe we actually have a shot at getting some local businesses to listen if we keep pushing them. I need to find the old blueprints or at least track down anyone who remembers the layout from the final year it operated so we can finally start drafting a real proposal for the council.

EVERYONE wants this. Why is the council so useless? Just fix it up already.

Yes pls! The old cinema had so much character. Modern multiplexes are just cold and soulless.

Would be great for the high street. Gets people out instead of stuck in front of netflix every weekend.

Took my wife here on our first date. Such a shame to see it just sitting there rotting away.
