The Grove has been a long standing night venue for locals. Due to lack of thought from councils/developers, the establishment has been surrounded by retirement flats and homes creating what they call 'night disturbances'... taking no consideration to how long the night club has been standing before the retirement flats, or indeed their local residence. The town is currently trying to be 'regenerated' but who for?! If the town is to become a hit again, without a night venue the youngsters and fellow locals will have nowhere to socialise beyond 11pm at the weekends, forcing them to other towns and economies, therefore leaving a ghost town. To regenerate the town, we need to think of all ages and social groups, 10 years down the line the town will be crying out for another night venue, another hall for jumble sales, another dance floor and another function room in the centre of the town!
