The Redwell Junior & Infant school are amalgamating from April 2014.

The schools Headteacher & Governing body have decided to change the school uniform which reflects the change. However, they have decided to merge the current red & blue to form PURPLE with effect from September 2014.

Many parents have expressed anger at the lack of communication. Why wasn't there any parent consultation? Why do we not get a say? They have not followed the government guidelines regarding the change of uniform.

Why choose a colour that isn't readily available on the high street & is an unnecessary expense.

So let's take a stand and say NO to the new purple uniform. The school have agreed to review the changes if enough people sign, so share the link!!

You can sign anonymously but we urge you not to, as names will add serious weight to our petition.

Thank you for helping!

The school administration remains silent on our demand for a proper consultation regarding the uniform change. Email the school board today to ask why they ignored government guidelines on parent involvement.

The momentum behind this push is real and the school is finally listening. Post the link to your Facebook feed today and email the members of the governing body to demand a formal parent consultation.

I really think it is unfair they are not phasing the uniform in! I have just bought 2 sets of uniform this year with the view it would last until my eldest left and my youngest , who has only just started, for at least 2 years! I cannot afford to change it all again!

AS a parent I want a choice where I can buy my child's school uniform. If the colour is purple the choice of retailers will be much more limited.

I cannot understand why the school think purple will unite the schools together. If they really want do something then why not keep red (it looks really smart) & just change the logo which can then be phased in over time without a deadline???

We were not informed about such a change, so going forward how on earth do we as parents have the confidence that this will not happen again. The bottom line is that if we no parent buys purple..we all stay red. Its simple. Too many things in this country are dictated to us...when it comes to our children our voices must be heard.

It's not so much the colour but the way in which the decision was taken seemingly without consulting those who will be funding this corporate rebranding exercise

Mrs Ansell an co, why were us parents not consulted first..... I love purple but it's just not an easy colour to buy off the peg... But more importantly Redwell School surely should have Red as uniform. After all it's in the name .... Redwell .

I was a little surprised to see at the uniform showcase that there was now the option of burgundy as a choice. Now please correct me if I'm wrong here but did we not receive a letter dated 31st January announcing that the uniform for Redwell Primary is RED!!!

What a pleasing result Thank you to everyone who signed the petition. I'm pretty certain that if I hadn't created this petition we would still be facing the dreaded purple uniform. RED for Redwell............result!!!
