I was a little surprised to see at the uniform showcase that there was now the option of burgundy as a choice. Now please correct me if I'm wrong here but did we not receive a letter dated 31st January announcing that the uniform for Redwell Primary is RED!!!

What a pleasing result
Thank you to everyone who signed the petition.
I'm pretty certain that if I hadn't created this petition we would still be facing the dreaded purple uniform.

The letter is simply as a result of unwanted media attention.
If Fridays letter had been sent in the first place then I'm pretty certain I would never have started this petition.
I still don't think for one moment that the school have any intention of keeping an existing colour.
The children will be encouraged to choose purple, but as they are not paying for the uniform, why would the majority object?!
They say the existing colours will not benefit the school and purple will present a new image and identity etc etc. laughable really as a new colour will not make the children more intelligent.
Then to add insult to injury they say families who do not return the slip will automatically be in favour of the proposal.
Firstly if you are a year 6 only parent, why would you care what colours & costs are involved, your child is leaving anyway! Secondly, new reception children who are expecting to be wearing hand me downs don't get a say.
This is not how a voting system works and in my opinion is almost just as bad as not having been consulted in the first place.

It is expensive enough to bring up children with out added un necesary costs,the parents should have been consulted first.

As a parent who has had 5 children at the school, 3 of whom are still attending, i feel that the past couple of years without proper leadership at the school has seen standards fall and i can understand why the current changes are taking place. I would like to urge parents who sign this petition to do so with their real names as it gives weight to our concerns and to do it without fear because we are all standing together.
If we stay united then next time hopefully we will be consulted before changes are made.Don't hide in the crowd, stand up and be counted. (robert forbes and smita bukhory-forbes)

I get this feeling too... As they are full of stories of how scared some of the staff are of her! How true this is I have no idea! By the way encase you wondered my real name is on the petition and comments :-)

I've also come across a few parents that I chat to, that have plenty to say about the subject, but don't feel it's relevant to sign because their child is due to leave this summer.

I jut had to respond to Fence sitter, I have spoken to several parents who have said they don't want the head teacher to know who they are. I think they are scared of her, lol.

Not part of your school and just browsing so just a question. Why are many who comment on this petition doing it as anonymous? Are you all the same person? If not why are you not declaring your connection to the school, it really dilutes the effectiveness of your petition if you do not declare who you are?

Can we please spread the word of this petition, as I hear lots of moaning in the playground from fellow mums but lots of yeah maybe when the petitions mentioned... Seriously if we don't sign and comment we stand no chance of getting our voice heard by the school.. After all even the department of educations website states schools should consuls with parents before making any uniform changes.... See the link provided by Redwell Parent.

AS a parent I want a choice where I can buy my child's school uniform. If the colour is purple the choice of retailers will be much more limited.
