On 25 July 2022 at 18h00 the SPCA removed 18 Tortoises, 3 Racing pigeons and 1 Rock Pigeon from our home in Sun Valley after receiving a complaint of dogs howling and living in a dirty environment. We have lived in Sun Valley for 50yrs and never had an issue with the SPCA regarding our animals. We found out that Cape Nature did not have us on their system permitting us to own the tortoises and no where can we find anything about having a permit for the pigeons. We are asking the community for their support with regards to reclaiming our animals that were removed without warning and without justified reasoning. The community know myself and my family very well and this petition is to ask you to stand by in the support of having our animals returned to us. Please sign this petition if you are in support of our plea to have our animals returned, if you have NO issues with our howling huskies and if you agree that our home/property is of a clean and healthy nature for the animals we provide a safe haven for. Many thanks The Flack Family, 23 Ketch Street, Sun Valley

The response to this plea has been heavy but it gives me strength to keep fighting for their return. Seeing this level of support makes me believe we might actually get them home where they belong.

Nina is well known in our community for her love of animals. Her name comes up often if people need help with rescued wildlife, particularly birds. Their home is definitely a safe haven for all animals.

Seriously, the dogs howl and you remove the other animals? Why don't you rather leave the animals with them and get the paper work done. But now you are left with all these animals you will have to find homes for when they had a perfectly good one.

Don't ever hear their dogs howl. They are respected members of this community. They care wholeheartedly for all their pets and I have NEVER seen their environment to be unkept. They deserve their animals back. Also where was the warning. Do we now just blankly remove without proper investigation. Please give their pets back.

There should be no reason for the Flack family not too have their animals returned. They are all well cared for and there should be no reasonable grounds for them to be withheld. They have had their dogs for years and if they were a noise problem it would have been noted well before now. The accusation seems to be malicious and unfounded.

No-one cares more for her animals than Raven does, she is the go to person for animal related help and the fact her animals were removed over something as trivial as a permit is ridiculous.

I live 2 houses away from Raven at 19 Ketch and have not had any issues with her dogs howling. She does amazing things for the community and her animals should be returned.

I'm fully aware of this complaint and in my opinion the defendent has been treated unfairly.i believe that in this case the complainant should have been given enough time to apply for a new permit as the old old permit was done more then 40 years ago and the animals should never have been taken away in the first place.there was also no fault found in the original complaint. In my opinion the actions of the complainant in this regard was unreasonable and therefore not agree that the animals should be taken away.
