Please help us save our family pet, Bruiser the Mini Pig! Our neighbor does not like our little bundle of chubby joy, and is working with the City of Pacific Grove to have our piggy taken away from our family! We are the only family Bruiser has ever known and between me, my husband, my two kids, my two dogs and my kitty...we all love him like family and would be absolutely DEVASTATED if he we had to give him up. Even though the City of Pacific Grove has officially approved Bruiser as a family pet, and we have complied to all requirements for keeping him, my relentless neighbor continues to file complaints to build up a case against my baby and we are now at risk of losing him. If we do not win our case, the City has said they will charge us penalties, fines and require us to reimburse the City for all Administrative Fees or they will take a Lien on our Home!! My family is so disheartened by the horrible experience we are going through. We discovered that our neighbor was stalking us to obtain what he considers to be credible evidence that we do not clean up after our piggy....this has been proven to NOT be true by the multiple visits we have had by City Staff to view our yard and give us a thumbs up that we are complying...My husband and I stayed quiet, working every step of the way with the City and even have tried on multiple occasions to settle this issue peacefully, but because my neighbor is determined to get rid of my baby, he has been heard much louder than us. It is time that we get louder than him!!! We have a hearing to fight to Save Bruiser on June 22, 10am at the Pacific Grove Chamber....we are seeking all the support we can get and your signature on this petition would make a huge difference. We are good, law abiding citizens of Pacific Grove...we volunteer in our community at our local schools, foster for animal friends rescue, and plan on being in Pacific Grove for a very long time! PLEASE HELP SAVE BRUISER AND SIGN OUR PETITION!!! The entire Hanes Family, Animals included, thanks you from the bottom of our hearts! We cannot let this happen to another family and there is power in numbers!!

The constant pressure from our neighbor is taking a heavy toll on my family. Watching the city continue to entertain these false claims while we follow every rule is exhausting but we are not backing down. Thank you for staying with us as we fight to keep Bruiser home.

This is a fine, upstanding PG family that does so much for our community and public schools. The Hanes family exemplify what Pacific Grove is all about. It is a shame that they are being persecuted because of a small, sweet and beloved pet/furry family member.
Please allow the Hanes to keep their much loved pet, Bruiser. There are much louder, obnoxious pets & barking dogs in PG. not to mention the dangerous raccoons and deer allowed in our streets and yards! This is a sweet family pet!
It is so sad that one person can cause so much disruption to a family. The neighbor filing the complaint is utilize and wasting the limited resources of our City staff. The Hanes family is a great family and to take away a member is so very sad.
Breaking family structures (yes, animals are family), causes unnecessary heartache and separation anxiety. City of PG, please work with these two neighbors and find an agreeable solution where Bruiser can remain with this loving family.
It is past time to recognize our animal companions as family and to make clear that unless there is a clear and compelling public safety interest, or the animal is being mistreated, there are no grounds for confiscating or separating the animal and its human guardian-companions.
Pigs are NOT what people think. They are perfect family pets just as a dog, cat, bird etc. in fact, they are similar to dogs. They are SAFE house pets. Many people are ignorant, thinking they are filthy. On the contrary, they are the opposite. Mud baths are only to keep their skin cool. A Chinchilla has to clean itself by rolling in a specif dust powder. A pet I owned for 5 years. STOP! I STAND IN FAVOR OF THE PET PIG. NO HARM IN ANYWAY. LET HIM STAY WITH THAT FAMILY THAT LOVES HIM. Thank you.
Bruiser should stay home with his loving family Love animals and ban pork!!! What an ass of a neighbor you have.

A mini pig is no more (probably less) a nuisance than a dog or a cat. This family is being responsible in their ownership and one whiney neighbor should not be the cuse of so much harrsment from the City. Leave them alone.
