Well the Hume council has now decided not to allowed this family to renew their permits and registrations. And has told the parents that they must remove 2 of the elderly dogs from the property.
These dogs have been a family for 10+ years, are so incredibly loved and looked after. We all know how much a dog can fret being away from another dog, imagine the impact of being taken from an entire family!

I just saw we crossed the one hundred mark and I am honestly shaking a little because I never thought this many people would actually care about the dogs. It is just so cruel to think about those pups being moved after a decade together and reading your comments is what is keeping me going right now.

I was just looking at the count and realized we are creeping up on that one thousand mark which feels huge and kind of surreal honestly. If everyone who reads this could just put the link on their own social media page right now we might actually hit that goal before the council meets again. It is just so unfair to expect these dogs to leave their family after a decade together and I really think this number is going to make the council stop and look at us.

I checked the count again and it is frustratingly stuck just below the hundred mark when we really need that big round number to show the council we mean business. Can everyone just take a second right now to poke someone else who might actually care about these dogs because I keep picturing them being ripped away from their home and it honestly makes my blood boil.

Please don’t do this to this family. A Samoyed is really part of the family. Given they have all had permits and been living there for years, why now say this has to change? Please let the dogs live out the remainder of their lives together there.
I have never known someone to be so loyal to his dogs. Bruce won't even go on holiday without them. He loves those dogs with ALL his heart and this is hurting him so much. The council needs to show some compassion and keep this family together.
It would be a different story if the dogs weren’t being well cared for and causing havoc. But this is ridiculous! What’s the point in separating them, when all it will do is cause the dogs anxiety in the last years of their lives. Now that’s animal cruelty.
Unbelievably cruel and heartless. Shame on you Hume Council. Think about both the family of dogs, and also the poor Watkins family who have only done the right thing by saving 2 dogs from being euthanised and instead are in a happy home and family
I have known these lovely people for so long I have lived on the same street since 1999 and I often see them walking there beautiful dogs past my house why change now there doing no one any harm let them stay and worry on other things that really need looking at
Please let them stay together
They should not have to give up any dogs

Since when did the Council forget it works for us? We decide the rules not the bureacrats and its high time they are remineded we employ them to manage Council Areas Safely not too tear apart loving families due to blanket 1 fits all rules!
