Hi There! This is a public petition for a recall request of the new '2017 Yamaha MT09 / FZ09.
We kindly request all owners to sign this petition as complaint for the bad lighting pattern of the new 2017 MT09 / FZ09. The new headlights generate a poor light beam that make the bike impossible to ride during the night.
When we achieve a good number of signatures, we will forward this public petition to Yamaha Motorcycle Global and perform a recall request.

Reaching this level of visibility proves I am not the only one struggling with these headlights on the road at night. It is exhausting to fight for basic safety but seeing this growth gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

Extremely dangerous!! Nearly had a bad accident lucky my off road experience saved me. Headlight at night is terrible it's the wrong shape and too low even with high beam as soon at theres adequate lean angle there is no lighting in the corner or general direct. Awesome looking light but it's a death trap waiting too happen. First time I've ever had a bad ride and wanted to go home.
After adjusting the beam to the manufacturers recommendation it is still dangerous to ride at night. This is completely unacceptable.
It needs better coverage, right now riding at night feels dangerous

We really need better lighting from a new bike!

Been wanting the MT09 since they first came out to replace my 2009 Honda CBR600RR. Bought the 2017 MT09 bike 4 week go and loving it. Except for the terrible headlight pattern which i discovered the first time i had to tie the bike home in darkness. It's a serious safety issue of which Yamaha needs to investigate, recall and fix pronto before someone, or many, get injured or worse.
