We the residents of Deerfield Plantation oppose the proposed rezoning of 21 +/- acres that originally contained the clubhouse (recently demolished) and the driving range. Current zoning allows single family homes. Our problem is the extremely poor condition of many streets that prohibit proper access to U.S. 17 Bypass and Business 17. Platt Blvd. from the site to U.S. 17 Business is a narrow 2-lane street with improper drainage at the entrance. Another 300 to 400 apartment dwelling units on the site will make ingress and egress very difficult for everyone living and visiting Deerfield.

If more housing development is going to be allowed within Deerfield by the County then a solution to the street problem must be a required pre-condition to any new rezoning for more development.

By signing this petition you are stating your opposition to the purposed rezoning to allow for high rise apartments and/or condominiums to an area that is currently zoned R14.5 (for custom single family homes on at least 1/3 acre.)
