This petition will help gain funding to re-open the facilities to the public for FREE use.
The Backroom project has a full backline that consists of two half stack Marshall amps, a full stack Hartke bass amp and a fully equipped drum kit. All you need to do is plug in and play.
The Backroom Project has 2 experienced sound engineers and a gitar tech at hand. They are here to help you through your practice and give you guidance and advice if you need it.
The Backroom also has a large range of freely accessible instruments for experienced musicians and beginners a like. For a full band to a stripped down acoustic session or learn your first chords. We have something for everyone.

im still talking to local council members to see who can help get the doors reopened. its been a slow process but your signatures are helping me prove that people actually want this space back.

this is starting to feel like something real and i am honestly blown away by the response. people are finally seeing how much we need this space back in the community. lets keep this energy going so we can get those amps turned back on.

I used to practise with my band here weekly and it was fantastic! Not only does The Backroom Project give bands a great sounding practice with their experienced sound engineers but they also give local acts the chance to perform at local events. An all around great place for young musicians to develop their skills.
I used to use the Backroom Project all the time. They really helped with with my music and they did my first recording. It would be great if it was re-opened. I would defiantly go back.

An excellent place for ALL musicians of ALL ages to turn up plug in and play. Whether youre jamming some covers with your mates, working hard on your original material or just enjoying an acoustic session. This is hands down the best place for developing as a musician in cumbria. It has been vital in the development of my bands ALAWL and Brightside.
