Re-instatement of 0.2 day RDO Accrual
The RDO accrual system for Geomatics offshore staff are specifically and deservedly intended to go hand in hand with long periods offshore away from family. In the case of RDO, it is required to demonstrate company commitment to both work-life balance, fitness for work and health and safety. The removal of RDO was, with the benefit of hindsight, a mistake that has led to a lot of bad feeling and hardship and that this has now been compounded by the second cut to salary. There is a basic fairness issue here which should be addressed.
Fortunately, there is at this point a golden opportunity for the Board to be led to consider that there is a strong case to now give the 0.2 day RDO accrual back to Geomatics offshore staff in compensation for the second cut.
If you feel that your leave is important to you, and you are in support of a re-instatement, then make it known to management by signing this on-line petition. The more support there is regarding this suggestion the more persuasion NGO management will have when speaking to their managers.
The petition will close by the end of the week (25/03/2016) and the results will be presented to NGO management the following week.
