RCA final show coincides with Art Basel this year, which means galleries, collectors and curators will be out of the country for the entirety of our final show.
The final show is the pinnacle of an MA at Royal College of Art and is an essential opportunity for networking and connections to industry professionals.
This petition is to extend the dates of the final show by 1 week (which is independent study week), so that we can have the visitors that we need for our careers moving on from RCA.
With support from students, tutors and heads of programs, this petition will be sent to the Dean and the Chancellor at Royal College of Art, with a certain number of signatures, they will consider our request.

Extend or move the dates for The MA exhibition show. Curators, collectors and galleries will be attending ART BASEL.. the same week as The MA final show here at The RCA.. By extending or moving the dates, the college shows support of their students due to scheduling conflict with ART BASEL. This could be excellent PR for RCA. A story for the press release.
Just having extra VIP sessions on the Monday to Wednesday would work and then vivas put back 3 days etc… I guess one of the many reasons we all come here is for the exposure at the show…
I'd even push for the week before, everyone will be in town for the opening of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
I’m on the RCA MA Painting, a degree show date extension is vital to my future as an artist
I want the best possible opportunity for the final year exhibition. This should have been considered when setting dates. And must be rectified

As an international student, degree show is the most important event throughout the whole learning experience. Our effort deserves to be seen.
