Baruch Hashem all neighborhoods in Beit Shemesh have been growing steadily for years. Access to neighborhood pools, however, has not been keeping up with that growth. In fact, since the closing of the "private" pools in RBS, access to pools - for swimming lessons, exercise and relief from the heat - has diminished, just as population growth and aliyah make the need that much greater. Swimming lessons are expensive enough without adding on transportation costs. And it's hard to learn to swim when you don't have access to a pool to practice, or when there are so many people in the pool you can't even move. How are we to fulfill Chazal's mandate to teach our children to swim without sufficient access to pools? If you think the iryah should be involved in zoning and building a pool for the residents of RBS, please sign, below - and pass it on to you friends!

The city officials continue to ignore our basic needs while families suffer in this heat. This wave of support proves they cannot pretend we are invisible anymore.

The population growth here is insane but nothing is being built to accommodate us. This is a basic necessity.

Getting tired of paying for bus fare just to get to a pool. Neighborhood needs a real community facility.

It is way too expensive to drag the kids all the way across town for lessons. We need something local for our families.

Living in RBS without a place to swim is crazy. We need this for the kids especially in the summer heat. Build it already!

100% agree. hard to practice swimming when you cant even find space in the water. hope the city listens for once.

Please make this happen! it is impossible to teach kids to swim properly when there are no facilities nearby.
