The residents of Isles at Oasis, Waterstone, The Vinyards, Keys Gate properties, and surrounding neighborhoods would like to let the Mayor and City Council of Homestead know that we are opposed to a Goodwill store and Presidente Supermarket being built next to Dairy Queen located at 3330 NE 8th Street. These are all relatively new neighborhoods that have attracted good families with steady employment. With the growth of Homestead as the economy improves we would like like to see an effort made to bring higher end shopping, restaurants, and nightlife so we do not have to drive to Kendall or Miami. As residents of Homestead we would rather keep our dollar here but with no options we are forced to go elsewhere. Bringing higher quality facilities to Homestead will do nothing but help attract more families and money to the area. As residents of this area we will not patronize Goodwill or Presidente as we do not feel it will add to our neighborhood or property value that we have all worked so hard for.

We need more restaurants and better stores. Money will stay in Homestead. More jobs for residents. There is another Presidente and a Goodwill nearby. Why built another more of the same?
Please do not allow these establishments to set up shop in our community! We need businesses that will raise the prestige of our community. Although these are very needed establishments, I'm sure that there are better locations other than right outside of our residential communities.
The City of Homestead and Florida City residents would appreciate the City Council's advising them about plans for future development in this area before approving it. The taxpayers want more say in the types of businesses being planned for this area.
I agree with this petition . I live in the area and also own a rental property . I love Hometead and want to see it prosper not lose its value with low end stores . I want to spend my hard earned money in Homestead , but not at these stores . Please reconsider .
We need a Target, Flanigan's, Whole Foods, etc. Not ANOTHER Goodwill or ANOTHER Presidente. I don't patronize the ones that we already have; adding more of them will not make me patronize them.

I am in agreement with this petition. Our community as well as homestead are prospering. We live next to the Speedway which attracts thousands of people from all around the nation. You would think our politicians would invite higher end businesses and restaurants to improve Homestead. Please reconsider your choices!!!!
