Thousands of people are without homes, the fire is growing, the drinking water for those around Fort McMurray is unsafe to drink unless boiled. Thousands, stranded on the highway-relying on good samaritans (nothing that you can take credit for) people without food, fuel, water, homes. It is time to ask for all the help you can get.
We are asking you to declare a state of emergency.

Fort McMurray was my home for two years and it still owes a huge part of my heart. To see it getting burned to the ground with very little being done to stop it is devastating. It's time to declare a state of emergency and bring in the help the town needs.
How many more homes/ buildings do we need to lose for this to be considered a state of emergency? The town is evacuated. ...come on....people are living in vehicles...camps have to boil water...people need help...animals need help...fort mcmurray needs HELP!!!
Are you kidding me???! We were lucky to survive this and our town is burning as we speak. There are babies without formula out at shelters. People have lost everything. Cars are abandoned everywhere you look. Give your head a shake!! If this isn't an emergency I don't know what the f*ck is.
Crazy how slave lake starts burning with 9000 people evacuated and it state of emergency but 80000 people evacuated and they can't even declare a state of emergency there are thousands of us that have no homes to go home to ! Unbelievable !
I am a fort mcmurray resident and we have all seen first hand the devastation in the community. We need help! The fact that there is another community on standby to evacuate just solidifies the need to declare this a state of emergency.
How is it that evacuating an entire city is not considered a state of emergency? Are you freaking SERIOUS???????!!!

Your province is on fire, tens of thousands of people have fled their homes, and thousands everyday Albertans are sending convoys to stranded evacuees with fuel, water and food. And on top of that, Albertans have to demand you declare a state of emergency?? What is wrong with you!!
