Minnesotans deserve clean air and protection from foreign-origin wildfires. Every summer, wildfire smoke from Canada drifts south, choking our skies and threatening the health of our families, seniors, and children.

This is not just a seasonal nuisance — it’s a public health crisis. Wildfire smoke is filled with dangerous fine particulate matter (PM2.5) that damages lungs, worsens heart conditions, and puts lives at risk.

We call on:

• Governor Tim Walz
• Minnesota legislators
• The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
• And all relevant U.S. environmental bodies

…to formally demand that Canada take greater responsibility for managing its wildfires, controlling dangerous emissions, and protecting American neighbors from cross-border smoke pollution.

We are not asking for a miracle — we are asking for accountability, preparedness, and partnership. Minnesotans cannot keep paying the price for Canada's inaction.
