The COVID-19 outbreak has adversely affected our students in many ways - some are unable to get to their homes and families; many are in poor health and unable to see a GP; anxiety levels have increased for everyone and the Disability Service is not coping with the demand; many are affected by the lack of access to campus facilities; class coordinators, tutors, and supervisors are unable to give feedback and submission and exam advice.

With consideration of the little submission and exams guidance students are able to receive in these circumstances, the limited access to facilities on campus, the increased anxiety, and the poor health of many we are asking the University of Strathclyde to move all deadlines, exams, and the exam board by 2 weeks.

My flat mate has had to self isolate so I've had to go home to my parents and lack of access to the library has created stress around getting everything done before exams.

Right now I'm trying to get back to my home country of Slovakia while having to move out of my flat and stay with friends. The last thing I need on my mind is the stress of exams.

Trying to study whilst being a single parent is hard enough but try doing it when you have two kids, one with a disability as well as being type one diabetic myself. These are uncertain times and we need help and time to help ourselves then worry about exams this is an added pressure no student needs at the moment

This issue is particularly relevant to final year students who have had to deal with the stress of both strike action and this outbreak. Final year students need to be given the slightest chance to do well :(

For education department, we have already had a 10 week placement, 6 student reports, an overall evaluation and a Crit. Alongside 5 other 20 credit modules. A dissertation is worth only 20 credits. Could this be made up elsewhere in this situation.

All assignment deadlines should be pushed back because there are assignments which some of us have due in which we haven’t had sufficient support because the lectures specifically devoted to them were suspended because of the outbreak of the virus.

Students have a hundred things on at the minute: moving home, sick family, monetary problems, stress from the circumstances and on top of it all coursework and exams. It is unbelievably difficult to concentrate at the minute. Yes this is our degrees however, it seems there are bigger issues. With lecturers transitioning to working at home, it is expected some things aren’t running perfectly just yet. A two week extension is a small ask to help smoothen the process.
