Dear Cascade County Commissioners, Planning Staff, and members of the ZBOA,

By signing below, I am joining my neighbors and citizens in opposition to the industrial food park proposed by the

Canadian Company, Friesen Foods. We ask you to:

#1) Sustain and strengthen the economic well-being of Cascade County’s citizens by protecting what we already have and strengthening opportunities for Montana’s family farms, ranches, and small businesses instead of mortgaging our natural resources for a foreign-owned corporate conglomerate.

#2) Protect and maintain Cascade County’s rural character rather than allow the landscape between Great Falls and Belt to be dominated by the largest food-based industrial complex in the Pacific Northwest.

#3) Protect and maintain Cascade County’s historic relationship with natural resource development by finding growth opportunities that coexist with or enhance the intrinsic natural beauty of grazing areas, farmlands and forests instead of sacrificing them to an industry with a deplorable environmental track record.

#4) Preserve and enhance the rural, friendly and independent lifestyle currently enjoyed by Cascade County’s citizens by understanding that the Madison Aquifer, the Missouri River, our fresh air, scenic vistas, current resident families and existing communities are more important than the promises of foreign companies and their investors.

#5) Stand strong behind the goals and objectives of our adopted Growth Policy so our precious resources are available for future generations and for growth opportunities which complement our way of life, not threaten it.

The potential benefits of the Madison Food Park project will NOT be worth the costs!
