This petition calls for the Preservation and Protection of all of Georgia's Historical Monuments .
We the undersigned citizens of Georgia and all of her cities do nearby petition all of Georgia's elected state, city and county officials, to enforce OCGA 50-3-1. This state law calls for the preservation and protection of all State Monuments and Statues.
These monuments of Georgia's History belong to all of the citizens of Georgia. All citizens have the right to have their voices heard.
These monuments stand as a reminder of what Georgia was and what she has become. They stand as a reminder of the good and the bad. To erase the bad history will not change the issues of racism or oppression. You can not remove, destroy deny nor replace the true facts of Georgia's history. We owe it to our children , grandchildren and all of the children to come, to educated them on the good and the bad so as not to repeat the bad but move forward to truly solve the issues and create a better future.

Monuments are history. Taking them down does not change history. It is ridiculous & wasting money.
I am against any historical monument being removed. In fact, I think those that have been destroyed should be replaced.
We should preserve our history so that future generations can learn from it. Our past helps to shape our present & future for all generations.
There is a lot more to worry about in this country than two or three small town monuments. Leave them alone, they are part of Thomson. They haven’t and weren’t offending anyone in til all this crap started and some fruitcake is trying to stir up trouble and further the division. Thomson didn’t have any problems, why stir the pot?
Protect ALL monuments not just a select few. We owe it to our future generations. We have a law, enforce it.
These historical monuments in Georgia are a part of American history and should be preserved. Unfortunately there are groups of people who have a political agenda that wants to erase and rewrite American history.
Everything on the petition is true. We need To stand together on this.

History does not need to be erased or torn down because some find it offensive, we should use it as teachable moments.
