im still reading through all the feedback you guys have shared about the dark sky park and its honestly helpful to see so much passion for keeping these views clear. im compiling everything now to send over to the dcnr so they have a full picture of what we want for the observation field.

im honestly blown away by the response we have been getting lately. seeing so many people care about protecting our dark skies really makes me think we have a real shot at getting these recommendations heard by the dcnr.

This is an excellent dark sky park to show our kids and grandkids what dark skies mean, showing the milky way to "wow" them and would be a shame to lose this facility for our future deep sky imaging... please keep it dark sky friendly...not many left!

I made my first trip to Cherry Springs this year. It was amazing. After having one partially cloudy night of viewing affected by people ignoring dark sky park rules and etiquette, I believe that these rules are necessary.

A new set of rules won't help unless they are enforced. I don't see any rules being enforced at Cherry Springs. Pets, plugged in RVs, washing at spigots, people who can't figure out how to quench their car lights when they open a door.

I agree with most things here. I don't feel that we need a Ranger on site all night. The Astronomers can self police. This will safe the State a lot of money that can be used for other activities.

I fully endorse the proposed rules and actions, as they are much needed to preserve Cherry Springs State Park as one of the world's premier dark sky astronomy parks. Without changes to the current situation at the park, I fear it will perish as a safe, peaceful and dark location for people who love star gazing.

I agree with the proposals, but with one question. Does "grilling" mean things like Coleman stoves or small camp stoves? Seems that campers need to be able to cook. How about set times like 7-9 am, 11-12 pm and 4-6 pm, during which times scopes can be covered? Bob Young

Public education on these issues is the key. Most people don't know how to set up their vehicles so they are dark sky friendly. A hand out on suggestions would help.

Please preserve the darkness of this unique and special park so that everyone interested in astronomy can access a truly dark sky.
