PETITION FOR EXTENDING PROPOSED RESTRICTED PARKING ZONE TO INCLUDE OUR STREET
(Sunnyside Ave N. Between East Greenlake Dr. N and N. 77th Street)
THE NORTH END OF GREENLAKE - NORTHWEST MARGIN OF THE PROPOSED RPZ
Because our street is experiencing significant parking congestion, which is exacerbated by the significant expansion of new housing without adequate residential parking in the Greenlake area, we ask that the Seattle Department of Transportation extend the proposed Restricted Parking Zone (RPZ) to include our street.
Despite the presence of of parking on both sides of the street, the congestion on Sunnyside Ave. North makes ingress and egress very difficult, even at current user levels. Congestion on our street is due to visitors to both the park and local businesses. If the proposed RPZ is implemented without extension to Sunnyside Ave North, people who seek longer term parking for both access to the park and business district, will end up parking on our street for extended periods of time, leaving no parking options available for residents. Once again, this is compounded by increased density of new housing both on and adjacent to our street.
The petition area consists of residences located on both sides of Sunnyside Ave N between East Greenlake Dr N. and 77th Ave NE.
