On Monday March 15th the Goldsboro City Council will be holding a hearing regarding two proposed housing developments that would border Harding Drive. These two proposed developments would be built near your home and we believe would adversely affect the quietness and comfort of your community. A large influx of people in this area would increase foot and road traffic on Harding Drive, an area already plagued by drivers that do not keep to safe speeds. In an effort to keep the quality of housing in the area we are asking you to sign this online petition urging the City Council to deny the change of use petition that would allow for the building of these two complexes. This petition will be presented to the Goldsboro City Council this upcoming Monday night.

I spent all morning reviewing the traffic patterns on Harding Drive because the council members keep insisting the volume is fine when anyone who walks their dog there knows it really is not. The silence from the planning office is frustrating but I keep drafting emails to try and force a response before the hearing happens.

Please do not allow these two developments to be built. It will cause excess traffic, trash and speeding on Cuyler Best which is horrific already. Also since it is a flood plain, it would have to be raised up and then Chafin Place would flood.

Something similar to this was defeated in 2018 and this needs to be denied for the same reasons as before.

I am totally against this rezoning request. As a homeowner in this area, the traffic is already problematic. How can Cuyler Best Road & New Hope Road support any more people, traffic and apartments? I suggest the city council go to this area around 4 to 5 p.m. so you can see just how bad it has gotten.

I am opposed to this rezoning request. Comprehensive long range planning does not support this rezoning.

Proposed developments on Cuyler Best Rd and New Hope Rd would increase vehicle and foot traffic on Harding Drive where traffic has already increased greatly in the time we have lived in Hardingwood. Security, roadside litter and property values would be affected by higher density housing.

Please do not allow more low income housing to be built on Cuyler Best Rd and New Hope. The traffic is already horrendous and to add more people with vehicles would not be in anyone’s best interest. Why not clean up the existing housing downtown Goldsboro that is in disrepair yet people live in them.

These two new developments would add traffic to cuyler best road that will increase in traffic accidents and harm the community.

I oppose of the increase and influx of traffic and residents in the area that is over its capacity, the roads need attention and the infrastructure needs improvement.
