- My name is Katie Shaner and I live at 1091 Woodgate Blvd. I am writing to request permission to install a six footfence. I currently have a four foot fence in place but this is not a sufficient height to contain my two dogs. I have tried numerous interventions that were unsuccessful. Specifically a couple of interventions that I have tried involved placing chicken wire at the top of the fence and placing an electric fence around the perimeter.
I do not want my animals to be a nuisance to my neighbors and the neighborhood. Many people in the neighborhood have returned my dogs when they have escaped which I am thankful for. I feel a taller privacy fence will be beneficial for the dogs, the neighborhood and to myself.
I can obtain signatures of neighbors who are in agreement with the six foot fence

I do not have dogs, however, every single surrounding neighbor I have, does. I have to say... these are all big dogs, and my kids are small. I am constantly worried (especially on one side of my yard) that the dogs are going to come over the fence. I don't necessarily always feel safe letting them play back there. Maybe taller fences will also help this concern..??

no one should be able to tell people what they can do to there own property unless there paying for it,the people they put in charge think there the president or something and there nobody i would never live like this
The dogs stay safe. The neighbors are not inconvenienced by the dogs. The new fence will help the curb appeal and value. Katie is not a quitter. She is a problem solver. This would make everything better for everyone.
For the safety of the dogs as well as neighbors, I feel a 6 foot fence is an ideal remedy for the situation.

I personally feel a good compromise between no 6 foot fences (unless having a pool) and 6 foot privacy fences is to allow 6 foot non-privacy fences. This would address the dog situation and not completely block the view of the yard.
