it is becoming all to clear now with media reports and stories on social websites and discussion boards that conditions inside UK prisons are now at a point where it is completely unsafe, attempted murders, rapes, stabbings, assaults are some of the most serious offences that can be commited in human society yet these are events that the prison officers face on a daily basis! is this government going to wait until one of you is murdered like my brother nearly was, i ask mr cameron if he is going to wait until there is a death or is he going to realise that the prison system as it stands is a shambles and by reducing numbers he will have blood on his hands
after almost 30 years of service, I just HAD to get out.... ask yourself why? You cannot run prisons for profit. Money could be saved in so many other ways, without having to cut staff. Ask the people on the shop floor where savings can be made, not the SMT.

I work in these conditions every day, the service has been decimated by cuts and staff safety ignored, the worst the service has been in 28 years I have worked there.

the job I love has been De-skilled and under valued. you can only stretch a now limited number of staff so far and thin before it FINALLY BREAKS. ignorance and arrogance has ruined a job and endangerd lives. this is NOT an exaggeration, it's a very sad fact.

Like many who has loved ones working in the Prisons I am constantly concerned about the levels of violence and abuse they face each day at work. The only way this stops is reducing prisoner numbers by building more modern prisons and increasing staff levels

I am so fed up with seeing mu husband come home with injuries. This has to stop. What about the human rights of Prison Officers whilst doing their duty. Please stop these unsafe working conditions.

The 1974 health and safety at work act is being continually breached, be it by the amount of stuff assaults because the numbers are continually being diminished but also by the lack of staff moral due to sickness and stress. Something needs to be done and soon.

Normal politicians who do not care what goes on with the Prison Service or any other Public services, Their only interests lie with lining their backers and their own pockets, they all come out with sympathy statements but really do not give a F
