On the 13th march 2010 three prison officers in performing their duties were attacked on G wing at HMP Frankland.

2 of the officers will never work again 1 has lost the use of his left hand and any feeling in the use of his left arm, his artery nerves and tendons were severed in an instant as the inmate attacked without warning nearly bleeding to death, the other officer which is female, was horrificaly chased along the landing fearing for her life as he struck her with the weapon he had made almost paralysing herleaving a large hole millimeters from her spine! the 3rd officer in restraining the attacker received multiple injuries, he prevented the inmate from continuing his rampage that day!

At trial, even in the face of OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE AGAINST HIM including CCTV OF THE WHOLE ATTACK he was found NOT GUILTY of ATTEMPTED MURDER or WOUNDING WITH INTENT, this has caused widespread outrage and disbelief, this E petition is by way of hopefully gaining enough public support to show the Ministry of justice that a retrial should take place. The result of this trial has set presidence that EVERY working environment is unsafe, especially those of prison officers, police officers, nurses, firemen etc.

These officers concerned and possibly yourself have been let down by the BRITISH JUSTICE SYSTEM after this verdictand we believe a re-trial should take place.

If you would like to support our efforts in this matter it would be very much appreciated

Craig and the other officers deserve a retrial for justice. How the hell can a jury come to the decision that got him off?? Unbelievable?!

All civil servants should be treated fairly & equally by the justice system. We protector the public, so the establishment should protect us.

It seems that perpetrators are treated with more rights than victim s going about their daily work.

In any other setting, an attack of this nature would be regarded as unacceptable and attract not only a guilty verdict but a commensurately severe sentence. Personnel having prolonged, direct contact with these dangerous individuals should be able to do so safe in the knowledge that the system they serve will support them.

Prison Officers must be protected & the guilty must be punished otherwise prisoners will carry on thinking they are above the law & injure again. This must be allowed to happen.

It is unbelievable how these 3 Prison Officers have been treated, there has been no justice for them. This incident will affect the rest of their lives and the prisoner has got away with it. It should certainly be retried.
