We wish to register our objection to the reduction in the prison sentence of Thomas Lloyd and Malcolm Hitchings, who committed a burglary in Hanley Swan Worcestershire on 10th August 2005. The Postmaster Mr Allan Davies was beaten around the head with a crowbar, and suffered serious head injuries. We understand that this will unfortunately not have any bearing on their sentence now, we are most concerned that if the practice of sentence reduction for serious crime continues because of the perpetrators TENDER AGE then they will not be rehabilitated and will continue to commit crime on their release. We strongly urge the Government and Judges to reconsider this DANGEROUS practice.

Updates

June 29, 2007

I am currently compiling our formal objection to send directly to the judicial oversight committee. Email your local representative to demand they review current sentencing standards for violent burglary. We need to keep the pressure on until officials acknowledge the danger of these early release policies.

June 29, 2007

We hit a significant mark of support today that proves our community will not tolerate these dangerous sentencing policies. Send the link of this petition to your local representative and push them to demand accountability for these violent crimes.

Way too soft. Lock them up and throw away the key.

Age shouldnt matter when you use a crowbar on someone. Needs to be much longer sentences for these thugs.

This is just madness. The victim is lucky to be alive after what they did. Why are we coddling violent criminals?

Poor man. He was just doing his job. Our system has become a complete joke lately.

If they do this now they will just do it again later. No justice for the victim at all.
