As a concerned resident of Ervin Mcgarrah Road, Lowell AR, I am writing this petition to express my strong opposition against the proposed addition of a 7 space RV Park, Office, and sanitary station in our low-density residential agricultural area. This project threatens to disrupt the peaceful nature of our neighborhood and raises serious safety concerns for all residents.

Growing up on Ervin Mcgarrah Road has been a blessing. The serene atmosphere, lush greenery, and close-knit community have made it an ideal place to call home. However, the introduction of an RV park would drastically change the character of our neighborhood. The increased traffic flow from visitors and campers would not only disturb our peace but also pose significant safety risks for neighboring families.

Furthermore, allowing such commercial development in a low-density residential agricultural area goes against the very essence of why we chose to live here. Our community cherishes its rural charm and values preserving open spaces for the abundant wildlife and farming activities that contribute to local agriculture. Introducing an RV park would undermine these values by encroaching upon precious farmland while disrupting the natural beauty that surrounds us.

To support my concerns with factual evidence:

1. Traffic Safety: The addition of an RV park will inevitably lead to increased traffic on Ervin Mcgarrah Road as well as nearby streets. According to studies conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), rural roads are the most dangerous roads in America. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) reports that crashes on rural roads tend to be more severe for a number of reasons such as lack of lighting, narrow shoulders, and lots of curves, which all exist on Ervin Mcgarrah Rd.

2. Noise Pollution: An RV park brings with it noise pollution from AC and Heater units running throughout the day and night, as well as multiple families moving in and out, potentially disturbing residents' sleep patterns and overall quality of life.

3. Environmental Impact: Construction activities associated with building an RV park can harm local ecosystems through soil erosion, water contamination due to runoff, and destruction of wildlife habitats.

4. Decreased Property Values: The presence of an RV park in our residential agricultural area may negatively impact property values for homeowners on Ervin Mcgarrah Road. Studies have shown that proximity to commercial developments can lead to a decline in property values.

We, the concerned residents of Ervin Mcgarrah Road, urge the local authorities and decision-makers to prioritize the preservation of our neighborhood's integrity and deny permission for the proposed RV park. We believe it is essential to maintain the low-density residential agricultural zoning regulations that have made this area so special. To approve this project, condensed on such a small piece of land (1.2 acres used) would set an unjustified precedent and open unlimited opportunities in our Benton County rural areas for people with no regard for our communities or environment to commercialize them just to make a profit.

By signing this petition, we stand united in our commitment to safeguarding our community's tranquility, safety, and agricultural heritage. Together, let us send a clear message that we value our neighborhood's unique character and will not allow it to be compromised by inappropriate commercial development.

Thank you for your support in preserving Ervin Mcgarrah Road as a haven for families seeking peace, security, and a true sense of community.
