Year after year, students are forced to take the same redundant classes. After high school, these students are forced into the world, having no idea how to actually function or thrive in society. Therefore, I suggest an education reform that states after 10th grade, students must take on real world experience, whether that be a job, volunteer work, an internship, or community service. Instead of having a sum amount of class credits, students must have a sum amount of hours from these experiences in order to graduate. I ask you to sign this petition if you care about to generations before us, the future leaders of the world, and the students that are beyond scared straight about life after high school. Students are being taught, but they are not being taught how to live.

I have been reading through your messages and it is clear that far too many students feel completely lost when they graduate. This frustration proves that we have to demand a curriculum that actually prepares us for daily life instead of just testing our memory.

Watching this movement grow confirms that I am not the only one who feels completely unprepared for the world after graduation. Seeing so many people agree that we deserve a practical education gives me the confidence to keep pushing for this change.

The classes I took in high school barely even prepared me for college and now I am struggling a lot. I can not imagine how hard it would be if I was in a true "real-world" situation. South Meck especially does an awful job of preparing its students for what is to come.

you really don't understand this until you're out of school, and seriously realize that more than half of what you know, isn't going to help you get a job, make money, be stable, etc.
