We the students of Power Electronics Engineering batch of 2020 are starting this petition to bring to notice the difficulties we are facing in getting the provisional degree certificate from our department which is a part of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda.

The Power Electronic Department, VGEC has withheld the provisional degree certificates and mark sheets of its students. This comes to us as a surprise because other departments of VGEC (EE, EC, etc.) have already started the process of granting the provisional degrees. A large number of students from other departments have already received their documents. Due to the ongoing pandemic, it has become even difficult for students to write all the assignments and practicals again.

We have been a part of this department for four years during which we sincerely submitted all assignments, practicals or any other work given by our Professors.

We understand that you are concerned about collecting assignments and practicals for departmental records. But in times like these, it is essential to care for everyone's physical and mental health.

The world is going through a lot of problems. Students of Power Electronics department are preparing for higher studies or looking for jobs. A core Power Electronics based company which visited VGEC for campus placement this year has cancelled offer letter of all students who were placed via VGEC. The number of jobs in India is declining day by day, and it is getting increasingly difficult to secure admission for higher studies. To go for higher education, a job, or even apply for competitive exams, having a provisional degree and mark sheet is vital for us.

Getting a provisional degree is a right of all the students who have completed engineering. This is something we have earned by countless days of hard work and dedication. We have passed all the tests with flying colours.

We humbly request the department of Power Electronics Engineering, VGEC to reconsider its decision of holding the provisional degree certificate and making us write all the term work again.

We the students who have signed this petition, request the Power Electronics department management to hand over the provisional degree and mark sheet to us as soon as possible.
