After eight years, the pond, at the entrance to the Sandra Freedman Tennis Complex on Davis Islands remains empty showing its visible rusting pipes. If it is 'cost-prohibitive' to repair the approximately 2-foot deep pond to its original beauty . . . can the City of Tampa please fill it with soil and plant greenery/shrubs that require little watering? Children come (in trucks) during the weekend with skateboards and use the surrounding sidewalks and the pond as their 'skate park!' If there is an injury, who would be responsible? Undoubtedly many staffers, spouses and other auxiliary people affiliated with the RNC will be heading over to the Tennis Complex to enjoy some tennis while they are here in August. Is this how we want them to remember our 'beautiful, waterfront tennis complex?'
