Grew up in a small town in Miami. We had our own fire fighters and police. One of the main attractions to town of Ponce Inlet was this small town feeling with our own fire Dept. We are independent and they are there when you need them.
We citizens of Ponce Inlet need to keep our own local Firefighters and Ambulance service and not one provided by the County. We pay enough taxes to the town to be able to continue to receive this service.
Having experienced a serious fire in my home, I can't express how important this is. My dog was saved due to the speed of response. It took almost a year to repair the damage. Things can be replaced but not the lives of humans and pets.
The ponce inlet fire department is a huge part of what makes our community so special and safe. We would lose a big part of our charm with out it. And with all the new construction and uptick in population, we need them HERE now more than ever.
Keep our own Firefighters/EMS right here in Ponce Inlet. I have no interest in entertaining a move to the county. Over 25 years of on the street experience here, having responded to literally thousands of EMS calls in my career.
Keep our fire department under Ponce inlet control.
We feel safe knowing and seeing them here everyday!!

Knowing within minutes there is a familiar face during an emergency is priceless. I have yet to hear a feasible reason to eliminate this invaluable service to our citizens. Thank you to all our Ponce Inlet first responders.
