Sign our petition and say NO!!!!!

No - to the current PNBST Trustees and their proposed subdivision and open market sales of our land at the old WAINUIOMATA COLLEGE & INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL sites.

After over 178 years of land loss the iwi of Waiwhetu remain landless via,

  • 1840 Lowry Bay Blocks Confiscation / subdivided by the Crown

  • 1946 Waiwhetu Section 19. Confiscation / subdivided by the Crown

  • 2013 Waiwhetu School (Cultural redress property) Sold by PNBST to
Windows Trust , John Ross (Trustee). Marketed by John Ross - owner Professionals RED COATS Lower Hutt

  • 2017 PAETUTU: Jackson Street, Petone (buy/leaseback property) Sold by PNBST to
Ian Cassel's - owner Wellington Company Property Developers.
Marketed by John Ross - owner Professionals RED COATS Lower Hutt

NOW in 2018, THE PNBST TRUSTEES PROPOSE TO:
SUBDIVIDE AND SELL 'LAND WITH HOUSE PACKAGES' IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

  • Ian Cassel's - owner The Wellington Company Property Developers
with property sections sold by ....????

We oppose this deliberate act by the PNBST Trustees to commercialise and put at risk the last remnant of 'mana whenua' land Waiwhetu tipuna owned.

We, as direct descendants of the original owners of this land, have lived and maintained Ahi Kaa Roa here in Te Awakairangi (Hutt Valley incl. Wainuiomata). We are supported by our local Marae, Community, families and local government.

Our dream is to build affordable housing and inhabit our 'tribally owned' papakāinga for whānau, hapū and iwi - protected and prepared for future mokopuna and generations to come.

Make a stand we us, sign the petition to show your support - Stop PNBST selling our land!

We just hit 500 signatures on this petition. The exhaustion of fighting a hundred and seventy years of land loss is heavy today but seeing these names brings a sense of resolve back to me.

We hve been saying No for the last 4 years face to face with our Board who are meant to be serving us and still they haven't listened. I recommend calling for the resignation of all members of PNBST Board on the grounds of A vote of NO CONFIDENCE and Gross negligence of their Duty of Care responsibilities.

Kia kaha whanau. Are to some whanau members whom are short sighted - short term gain / long term pain. You own the goose (whenua) that continually lays golden eggs, why sell what provides for your whanau, sell the eggs if you need putea, they keep comming as long as you own the goose :) that will continually bless all your whanau - now and in the future - not just the few. Xx

wainuiomata, Shelly Bay, Waiwhetu, Petone.... this is the NZ Company dealings repeating itself. WCC have publicly admitted their mistake with the Shelly Bay project calling it “a horrible horrible outcome that has caused enormous grief”. STOP NOW!

Stop selling land. There are alternative options to large property development. Consider tiny House, micro apartments or transportable homes. This will allow full use of the land, affordable home and the ability for new Zealand to be able to enter the property market.

As a resident of Wainuiomata, I fully support this petition that local iwi retain the ownership of the land in question, that affordable housing is built, that local iwi can purchase low cost housing built on this property and that all house owners contribute to the rates, maintenance and on going costs associated with the property land via a lease arrangement to suit.

Not one more Acre!!! As a direct beneficiary of waiwhetu port Nicholson block wai 105 trustees have done nothing but sell off land to private developers. We are still struggling to house our whanau many paying market rent to landlords @380 plus per week. No ones getting ahead our mokopuna will not get ahead we must help each whanau secure a whare enable the rent to own kaupapa for those who cannot loan from a bank due to a single income household or whatever the case how is it that these trustees in these trusts be held accountable for selling our land off it'd 1840 all over again and what makes it worse is its our own whanau hapu iwi members who are ripping our own people. Whaka uz uptu whakin teko
