I am crying right now because everything is finally approved for Derek to come home with his machines. I honestly did not think this would happen so fast but thank you for holding my hand through the worst of it while I was losing my mind at the hospital. Just …
I'm doing this for my son Derek Mahon because WV Medicaid is not wanting to help him get his medical supplies to take home. He needs a bipap machine, oxygen, and a pulse sox machine to monitor him at home because he was recently diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. He was born with hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy and scoliosis. His scoliosis has brought this breathing problem forward so now he needs them machines at home to take care of him. He is currently in Cabell Huntington Hospital due to his breathing issues but ordinary for him to be sent home Medicaid needs to pay for his machines. The only thing is they are refusing to help him. Can you please sign this petition to tell them otherwise and thank you.
I spent the entire afternoon on the phone with representatives who just keep reading from scripts while Derek is still waiting in his hospital room and it is honestly so frustrating to handle this while he needs me there by his side. Please know I see every single message you leave here and even if I do not reply right away it is keeping me going through the exhaustion.

I am honestly just floored by how many people care about Derek and honestly it makes the days in this hospital room feel a little less heavy. Seeing all this momentum building up gives me actual hope that we might get those machines and bring him home soon where he belongs.

Unbelievable. Medicaid needs to quit dragging their feet and let this boy go home to his family.

This is rediculous. No child should be stuck in a hospital just because insurance wont pay for basic needs. Sending prayers for Derek.

Call the news stations in Huntington. Sometimes that is the only way to get these people to actually listen.

Have you tried calling the governor office? Sometimes they can push things through when nobody else will.

Contact your state congressman/woman or senator & ask them to intervene. Or a state disability representative. Good luck.
