Approximately 2500 students attend school in the Knocklyon area. There has never been as many children growing up in Knocklyon than there are today. It is unfortunate that despite the amount of youth in Knocklyon the area does not have many amenities for young people. The closest playgrounds to Knocklyon are Tymon Park Playground (3.2 km away), Rathfarnham Castle Playground (3.4 km), Bushy Park Playground (3.5 km), Marlay Park Playground (5.1 km).

I have been reading through all of your comments about potential locations for the playground and I am truly moved by the energy you are bringing to this. It is your dedication to our community that is keeping this conversation alive while I work on reaching out to local representatives.

I am honestly stunned by how many people care about this playground project. This momentum belongs entirely to the community and seeing everyone come together like this is truly humbling.

New playground badly needed. It's difficult getting four kids into a car and costly driving to Marlay Park or Rathfarnham Castle where it's pay parking.

Knocklyon really needs at least one playground in the area as we have to travel to Bushy Park or Marley Park for the children to play in a playground. A good location would be the park beside the new footpath in Dargle Wood

it would be nice to have a playground for the children and also to keep them not staying at home always,to interact with more friends and to be close to the nature. need to have a most safety playground that is not near to any major road or roadside, fencing is required and also CCTV for anti social behavior or major crime.

I live in an apartment in knocklyon and a playground would be very beneficial to my children and the other 27 children that live in our apartments

This is badly needed in the area. I would favour the green in front of the church or land beside the path between the two darglewoods with parking on templeroan road.

So far this year residents in Whitechurch and Woodstown have opposed playgrounds in their area and it looks like a playground will also be rejected by the residents in Idrone. It is only people opposed to playgrounds that are turning up at the public meetings. There are playgrounds being built everywhere in the county except Rathfarnham and Knocklyon (Lucan, Palmerstown, Clondalkin, Rathcoole, Tallaght, Firhouse, Walkinstown, Tymon). Is there anywhere in our area where residents want a playground?

This is well overdue.
