The downtown business owners are starting to notice our momentum. Email your city council representative today to tell them why the square is the only home for our celebration.

The momentum behind returning the Fourth of July to the square is now impossible for the city council to ignore. Text three of your neighbors the link to this petition and tell them why the square is the only home for this celebration.

Growing up the Fourth of July celebration was always held at the town square. Why not start celebrating it back at the place that originally brought the community together?

I would love to see the celebration moved back to the square. It just doesn't feel the same at Lee Olsen park.

I miss it being at the square & it's hard to stay for a long period of time without all that natural shade & I love keeping old traditions alive. This needs to happen for sure! I never liked that it changed.

This seems to be a no-brainer to me. The title 'Town Square' alone is a great reason why one of the city's biggest celebrations of the year should be held there. The Town Square provides plenty of space for booths, relaxation, parking, activities, etc. - All while providing a natural shaded area for attendees. The current spot for the celebration (Lee Olsen Park) seems to be lacking a few of the above mentioned conveniences. Unfortunately, I believe attendance numbers have been decreasing since the switch away from the Town Square. I am sure that I will always be a yearly participant of the Plain City 4th of July festivities regardless of the location, but I am strongly in favor of moving it back to the center of town.
