As residents of the City of Vaughan we are concerned with the rezoning plans for the north side of Centre St, Thornhill between Dufferin and New Westminster and ask Vaughan City Council to consider the quality of life for area residents in regards to blocked sunshine, traffic, parking, green space and community safety. While we understand that the Province of Ontario has called for increased high density in our city, wehave already experienced an explosion of condominium development around Disera and the Promenade Mall with plans for more development in these areas, on Bathurst north of Center, as well as at Dufferin and Center. We believe that additional high density should focus elsewhere in the city with zoning remaining as it is for the north side of Centre St.
There are also plans to run a Rapidway through this neighbourhood - if the Rapidway will result in the City, Region and OMB demanding higher density on Centre (which is a quaint country road on the east side of Bathurst) please support adjusting the route of the Rapidway.
We believe that change is needed on Centre St. We support change that maintains the atmosphere of the neighbourhood and treats this as a minor regional road- unlikeSteeles or Dufferin - with an emphasis on the family friendly heritage nature of Thornhill.

I am truly humbled by the number of people who care about the future of our neighbourhood as much as I do. It is clear that this community wants to be heard and I am just glad to have provided a space for these concerns to come together. This momentum belongs entirely to the residents who refuse to be silent.

I intend to not support in the next election any counsellors who support this rapid development.
Why do we keep building these giant towers everywhere? The infrastructure cant handle it and the roads are already way too congested.
THORNHILL IS LOSING ITS CHARACTER. STOP THE HIGH RISES.
Please leave the north side of Centre alone. We bought here for the quiet street and the trees.
The traffic here is already a mess with the construction at the mall. Adding more condos is just gonna make it impossible to get to work on time.
The Cente/Bathurst rapidway is very expensive project supported only by interested parties such as Viva Rapidway, unions and various construction companies and highrised building developers. Future development is also supported by Town of Vaughan Cancel where I am not exclude a vested interest of the cancelers themselves in a such project. For example, the approval of the Beverlay/Bathurst highrised project was already partially based on the approved Bathurst/Centre rapidway corridor. The preliminary estimates of the future passengers traffic are overextended and not based on referendum type( there are no any questioners or inquiry were presented to the residence of that area) I assume that next move will be the construction of a number of high raised buildings on the Walmart property ,which is already approved as a highrised zoning. Next the owners of the property were the NO FRILLS supermarket is located will be trying to rezone, based on the adjacent to the Walmart property. In the nearest future the Bathurst/Cente area will resemble the Bathurst/Steels area, and only very vigorous resistance of the residence can resist that future problems. Please do not involve the cancelers of your area --- they are not on your side. The resistance have to be independent. City of Vaughan has to present publicly all preliminary studies and to be placed on the web.
We need to keep this residential area quiet

I don't see the cost justification and benefits of creating a rapidway on Centre Street. It is a waste of taxpayers money and creating driving nightmare on Centre Street. I will not support any politicians who supports this development.
