As residents of Vaughan, we are concerned with York Region/YRT/VIVA plans to create center bus only lanes for VIVA buses along Bathurst and Centre St. The Beverley Glen area is trapped by highways in the north. By creating bus only lanes on Bathurst and Centre Streets the already overburdened roads - particularly north/south - will be choked due to lost lanes during construction and limited locations for left turns following construction.

We are suggesting that the Rapidway remain on Hwy 7 in Thornhill so that Thornhill Woods and other neighbourhoods may also have access (Thornhill Woods Blvd has a YRT bus that should be able to connect to the rapidway and Hwy 7 between Bathurst and Centre is underserviced by YRT.) In addition, we request that any transportation
hubs be located along Hwy 7 - perhaps by moving the Promenade bus terminal to unused provincial land (previously set aside for 407ETR ramps) at Centre and Hwy 7.

We understand that the Province is asking for higher density in York Region. The Thornhill area has experienced extensive higher density development and with the increasing gridlock we believe that no further rezoning for higher density should be considered - we have contributed sufficiently to the higher density ratio.
