St Elmo was CREATED as the first street car suburb of Chattanooga. Not having regular bus service to the neighborhood is just crazy!
With three people in my household that ride the bus, it is important to have service at regular hours even in the middle of the day since 2 are college students and college schedules can vary (i.e. class releases early, etc.)
St Elmo was the only area that had Saturday cut! My neighbors, friends and family use bus transportation for all of their transportation needs. Carta is imposing a great burden on these taxpayers possibly to the point of losing their jobs. Unacceptable.
I'm a proponent of public transportation or cycling. Two shifts during commuting hours (say 6-10 and 4-8) with smaller buses, and one eight hour on Saturday (from 10-6) would cost less and accomplish more.
Our family would utilize such transit more often if operative hours were expanded, not vice versa. Cutting it off at 6:30pm is simply too early, even considering an average work schedule.
Help people without personal transport, and traffic problems on St Elmo. If ridership needs to be expanded; more promotion and public outreach might help.
Serve the people, not just the big, low-paying employers!

After years of riding the #15 route, I am disappointed to see these changes. St. Elmo residents need this route just as much as anyone else. This affects work. This affects school. This affects the ability to be independent if you cannot afford a car. This is about more than just cutting slower hours.
