Help people without personal transport, and traffic problems on St Elmo. If ridership needs to be expanded; more promotion and public outreach might help.

Please do not cut out the Saturday bus service for St.Elmo. I understand the need to cut out Midday rides on weekdays, but the Saturday service is very much needed. There are many residents, myself included, who do not drive and Saturday is the only day we have free due to work to take care of other appointments. I also know quite a few fellow riders who use the saturday bus to get to work and back. Also please remember that there are many elderly and special needs individuals who live in St.Elmo and use the bus on Saturdays and during the regular week as well. Walking 15 blocks to catch the #1 at Food City is neither feasible nor healthy for them. Maybe you could change it to the way some other routs are where there are just a couple of routes in the morning, 1 midday, and a couple in the afternoon or evening? Anything would be better than cutting off our access to the city for two days.

I understand that public transportation is more efficient on a macro scale than individual vehicles. With this in mind, I support services to Saint Elmo if it is not cost prohibitive for Carta or the city.

Please do NOT cut bus services to a community that is trying to embrace the concept of using public transportation, bicycles & walking, rather than automobiles as a means of transportation. The city has been investing in bicycle & pedestrian "ways" in St. Elmo, and the thought of cutting bus services seems counterintuitive. It seems the City of Chattanooga has a vested interest in promoting public transportation rather than decreasing services, since the city claims to be focused on the "greening" of the city! There are many residents of St. Elmo who are dependent on bus services to get to work, the grocery store, doctor appointments and to school. Some people have chosen St. Elmo as their area of residence because of the availability of bus services. I hope CARTA will do the smart thing, and promote public transportation...It is their primary function!

St. Elmo needs it's currant bus schedule...Please do not cut the services that so many here rely on to get to work, to school and more. WE DESERVE AND NEED SATURDAY BUS SERVICE IN ST. ELMO. Please listen to us who live here and use the bus services that we have had for so many years. Victoria Beasley

I am very sad to hear CARTA just wanted to cut our bus services significantly down. My family only has one car right now and I rely on the bus routes to get my child and myself to work on days that I am unable to use the car. This is a vital route that I use and to see it go would be stressful. I am signing this in hope that CARTA and St. Elmo can work together to come up with something that will continue to work for both CARTA and the hard working citizens of St. Elmo.

I really wish there were a couple #15 runs in the evening. Would be nice to take the bus downtown for dinner and drinks. Maybe with a couple Friday/Saturday evening trips...more people would ride for recreational reasons.

Would love to see a reconsideration on cutting back on the St. Elmo bus route.

This is necessary in my opinion in order to provide transportation for those who cannot afford to own, maintain, and insure a vehicle. And, for those who wish to keep our community safer with less vehicles on our residential streets.

This is a valued service provided to needy and hard working Chattanoogans. Please do not make life more difficult for those who have experienced enough challenge.

After years of riding the #15 route, I am disappointed to see these changes. St. Elmo residents need this route just as much as anyone else. This affects work. This affects school. This affects the ability to be independent if you cannot afford a car. This is about more than just cutting slower hours.

I'm handicapped and paralyzed from the waist down. Carta buses are very convenient with their handicap lifts. It's hard on friends and family to transport me around town. I rely on the buses heavily please don't cut the services I rely on.  There are several other handicapped people in wheelchairs that use buses in my area. I'm not sure if they are aware of these cuts or the petition, but I'm sure they would sign it if they knew.

As a college student, I rely on CARTA as my primary mode of transportation. I can't predict the times of the day that my classes will be offered each semester, so having a bus available at any time of day is important for me.

St Elmo was CREATED as the first street car suburb of Chattanooga. Not having regular bus service to the neighborhood is just crazy!
