The Ambridge School District is trying to rid of the USMC JROTC because the disrtict is $1.9 million in debt. Meanwhile the school district does NOT pay for anything the program does. The only thing the school district pays for is HALF the 2 instructors salary. We fundraise for anything we want to do. If we want to go on a field trip or do something extra we have to raise money to go there or do it. The district gets $600.00 for every student that comes to Ambridge for the USMC JROTC program from a DIFFERENT school disrtict. Right now we have 17 students with 20 more to come next year. Ambridge is benefiting from this program. Why should the students of the program have to suffer for the district's problem?????

The administration remains silent regarding the future of our program despite the clear evidence of its financial benefits to the district. I am currently compiling a list of the extracurricular achievements our students have earned through their own fundraising efforts to show exactly what is at risk. Their dedication has been a quiet force throughout this process.

Seeing this groundswell of interest confirms that the value of our program is clear to those outside of our immediate classrooms. This momentum encourages me to keep advocating for the stability of our cadets and the future of their training.

My son is in this and it has changed his life. Dont take this away from them!!!
This program keeps so many kids on the right track. Cutting it saves barely any money given the debt they have. Keep it alive!

Ridiculous to cut a program that literally pays for itself. The administration needs to look at the math before making dumb decisions.
