Cultural heritage and a history of stewardship that protects groundwater, surface water flow and native vegetation need to respected and protected. Please maintain the RL-436 property lease with the Ruiz Family.
Unfortunately, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the Owens Valley are again reaching adversarial positions again. This is not the only ranch lease that is being threatened. Please renew the Ruiz lease and the other valley ranchers' leases.
DWP its time you take responsibility for all the wrongs you have visited on our beautiful valley!!! Leave this lease to the family that has taken care of it for 80+years!!!
Renew this Ranch Lease as we appreciate what ranchers have always preserved in our valley, environmental health and our heritage back to the 1850's.
I've known 3 generations of this family. They are very serious about the care and stewardship of this property. LA, behave. You've taken enough from the Owens Valley.
Don't Create A Problem if there is no problem existing, especially for money, it will end up costing you more in the end. If the Ruiz's have been doing things right, support them in allowing them to keep the history alive in Lone Pine.

Intelligent land management only comes with time and experience. In the quest for the almighty dollar, the land always loses. Respect the knowledge and stewardship of the Ruiz family and renew their lease.
