Petition to preserve Ranch Lease RL_436 to Ed Ruiz

Don't Create A Problem if there is no problem existing, especially for money, it will end up costing you more in the end. If the Ruiz's have been doing things right, support them in allowing them to keep the history alive in Lone Pine.

I support the Ruiz family in keeping the lease.

Ranchers cannot produce beef with out land!! It isn't cost effective to buy land at today's cattle prices. Leases are the way most farmers and ranchers feed America! Show some respect!

Please help Ed Ruiz preserve the eastern Sierra ranching culture and renew the longtime lease of the Ruiz family in the town of Lone Pine.

DWP's greed and corruption prevents them from understanding working with the ranchers would benefit them far more.. It really does seem like their long game is to drive the value of water up while driving local resistance out, eventually they will be able to hold all of OV and LA hostage with total corporate control of land and water use, how much will your grandchildren pay for water and do you trust DWP to fairly distribute it? Stand up for what you feel is right. The Ruiz lease is just one of many battles ahead.

Water for LA has caused untold misery in this valley, ruined many lives and even caused death, both to humans, lifestyles, fish, farms, plants and animals. Hasn't LADWP taken enough? doug white

LADWP should not be able to do this, especially since they are not even explaining anything to the family or Inyo county.

Intelligent land management only comes with time and experience. In the quest for the almighty dollar, the land always loses. Respect the knowledge and stewardship of the Ruiz family and renew their lease.

I want the Ruiz Family to retain the lease because of the tradition established of using good land preservation practices.

LADWP needs to continue all historic leases in the OV! It is not an easy life to support a family on an agriculture lease land in this Valley. I think it is well past time to offer long-time lease holders the opportunity to purchase lease lands at a discounted rate or sliding scale determined by the years of a DWP lease. For any family or individual leasing DWP land once granted the lease it should not be taken from them as long as they continue to pay a reasonable lease fee to DWP. Stop hurting the hard working people of this Valley!
