REQUEST FOR A DESIGN CHANGE ON THE LOGAN CSO PROJECT IN SMOKETOWN

The undersigned residents & supporters of Smoketown urge the Metropolitan Sewer District to revise plans for the Logan CSO Interceptor Project allowing the construction of an at-grade basin. We request amenities be determined and prioritized by the neighborhood through a work-group process that includes the Smoketown Community, MSD, Metro and other interested parties. We want Smoketown to be treated fairly and equally—receiving the amenities and respect given other neighborhoods across Louisville Metro. (For Background on the issue: See article from Broken Sidewalk by Ben Carter: http://brokensidewalk.com/2016/logan-cso-interceptor/) Remember, it's up to all of us..... Thank you!

I was looking over the plans again and honestly it just does not add up why other parts of the city get beautiful green spaces while we are stuck with industrial eyesores. The silence from the board is getting louder by the day even though I know they have seen the signatures piling up in their inbox. We have to keep this pressure up because they are clearly waiting for us to get bored and walk away but that is not going to happen.

I really thought this might just float around in the digital void for a bit but seeing how many people are actually talking about this now is honestly kind of overwhelming. It feels like the board might actually have to acknowledge that Smoketown is tired of being treated like an afterthought and the fact that you all showed up to say that out loud is keeping me going through all the research rabbit holes I keep falling down.

Please go back and let the smoke town residents have a say about their neighborhood. Wouldn't you want that courtesy if you lived there? Thank you.

All deserve to be informed!!! These things wouldn't be questioned in the affluent neighborhoods.

I live 3 blocks from the site. Please do something that will strengthen our community rather than hinder it's growth.

Smoke town is an up and coming neighborhood, make what you are doing beautiful and match other neighborhoods.

Finalizing a project without reasonable communication to and from the community is bad policy. This must change going forward.

Since Smoketown and all Louisville neighborhoods will be paying for whatever MSD does, great deference to the "customer" who is subsidizing this massive task is due. MSD and Metro should bend over backwards to make Smoketowns and other neighborhoods satisfied with the process and outcome.
