We, the undersigned residents, families, and supporters of Chickasaw Park, respectfully petition the Louisville Metro Government and its Parks and Recreation Department to improve and modernize the sprinkler/wading pool in Chickasaw Park.
Chickasaw Park is an essential and historic green space for the West Louisville community, and it serves as a gathering place for families, children, and visitors of all ages. However, the current wading/sprinkler pool infrastructure is significantly outdated and inadequate for today's youth. It lacks both functionality and safety standards commonly found in other modern wading/sprinkler pool throughout the city.
We believe that every child deserves access to safe, engaging, and well-maintained recreational amenities. Investing in a revitalized wading/sprinkler pool at Chickasaw Park promotes public health, community pride, and youth development.
We are requesting the following:
- A full assessment of the current sprinkler system’s condition.
- Allocate funding for a complete redesign and upgrade to a modern Splashground.
- Engage the community in the planning process to ensure the new facility meets local needs.
We urge city and local business leaders to prioritize this improvement in upcoming budget and allocation decisions and revitalization plans.
Respectfully Submitted:
The city has too many resources they can pull from to come up with the funding to make this happen!
