At a recent meeting of Wadhurst Parish Council it was agreed that we would petition local residents to see if you would support making this public house an Asset of Community Value (ACV). This means that if the building was ever going to be sold to someone who wasn’t going to run it as a pub, the Parish Council would be notified, and would have six months to raise the funds to buy it on the open market.
Too many pubs have been turned into housing and Wadhurst Parish Council are determined to do all we can to prevent losing any more.
Please note you must be on the electoral role (ER) in Wadhurst to participate
If we are successful in making this building an ACV we will be conducting further polls to see if residents would support a community buy out.
This has nothing to do with the present operators of this pub who are making a tremendous effort in very difficult times and deserve all our support.

I brought a house near the high street in wadhurst little over a year ago and live the asthetics of the village. Having been brought up in a village where the pub was knocked down and replaced with housing I have to say it is such a shame as it destroys the sense of community that thes public houses give to us.
Sam and Harri have made the White Hart a warm inviting and friendly focal point for everyone to feel ‘at home’ and enjoy fine food knowing it has been locally sourced and cooked to perfection. It’s a great place with an enviable reputation.
We need this pub , it's a valuable asset on the high st and to all who live in Wadhurst. We need a vibrant high st and mustn't let it die, so many shops have closed.
The pub is an integral part of Wadhurst High Street as as such should be protected. There is other empty land which can be used for development and which will not cause traffic sewerage and electricity overload which will happen on the High Street
I believe the Bell at Ticehurst is a similar community establishment and seems to be a thriving heart of that community so I think this would be a great additional asset in the centre of Wadhurst.
Lost 2 pubs already around Wadhurst-Red Lion & Best Beech in last 5/10 years.No More.
I agree, it should be kept as a pub, we lost the Methodist Chapel because we couldn't raise the funds.

Extra people in extra houses will need extra places to go - not fewer. The trend towards taking amenities AWAY and replacing with housing needs as many hurdles erected in its way as possible. Prevention is better than cure.
